The Larger Bowl

As I sit here in class typing these stupid blogs about nothing, while listening to Rush on their site with some headphones that i found on one of the tables (God knows what filth is on these things.) I started to listen to a song by Rush called Bravado from their Roll The Bones album. And for some reason after talking about politics and what kind of hole we have dug ourselves in, I couldn't help but notice that we are one of the very few fortunate ones that have the freedom to choose what we want in our lives. Our and their people at war over some stupid subject of religion and who's going to become a car bomb victim first. Not to sound cruel at all. All I'm saying is that people here need to stop bickering about how their lives suck. Hey, at least you didn't see your buddy get blown in half from a grenade.

Ah, the candidates.

So.. McCain and Obama. I REALLY don't want McCain to win. From the looks of it he looks like another gun ho "Let's keep this war going for FOUR MORE YEARS!" I heard from somewhere that he agrees a lot with what Bush wants/wanted. So yeah, I want Obama to win with this one, although a lot of his ideas are far fetched I have a feeling that he'll at least do SOMETHING about this war.

The main thing though that I dislike about these elections is how they say they will do so much, and usually go with the standard "lower taxes and do something about the earth problems". But then they get over their heads and say all this other crap about how we are going to find another fuel source and somehow revert what is happening to this earth of ours. How do you revert something that cannot be replaced? Well whoever wins better get out his magic wand and just start shaking the hell out of it, because so far I heard of nothing that could help us with the lowering fuel sources, global warming, excessive crime, smog that blocks out the sun, and corporate companies ruling this country with an iron fist.

I really do hope that this election at least gets us started on the right foot again, it seems as of late that we have all been marching to a different beat. We all have different ideas and no where to show them or tell them to. Maybe now we can have someone that will listen. And then we can start marching once again to the beat that we threw out so many times.

And I don't know much about Nader. But Nader rhymes with Vader. And I don't want some stupid Death Star in my backyard.

PDA

Well there is a song called PDA from a band named Interpol. And no not the secret agency. I found that I really like this song, a lot. And I do not know why. Sad thing is that this is the only song I really know from them. And also, I need to ask a question. Does it make anyone else mad that you would love a song/band, and you tell a person about it, and they say "Oh yeah I can play that song on Rockband on Expert with drums/guitar/bass/whatever." I dunno, smacking a plastic button doesn't seem to impress me. Don't get me wrong it's fun and all, and I enjoy playing it time from time. And it's great to play with a party or something. But I dislike the people that think they are actually playing a real instrument. Especially for a person like me that actually does play an instrument. Bah!

Hurricanes.

Well, their has been a hurricane in the south lately. But every time I hear about it, I notice that the media didn't pick it up and use it as much as the Katrina hurricane. For whatever reason I don't know. This hurricane caused just as much damage, physically and emotionally. I wouldn't care as much usually, but one of my friends lives near Texas and he had to evacuate earlier. He said everything is fine other than probably the rain and the wetness.

If I was ever in something that serious I don't think I'd be able to handle it at first. If my house was completely destroyed, I probably wouldn't be able to take it all in at once. my prize possessions. My bass, my computer. All of that gone because of some stupid winds and storms.

So yeah, i'm glad I live here up north. The worst we have is a blizzard, but at least we can control it with snowplows, and hide in the house and wait it out. That's all I have to say about that.
